Functional Explanation

Historian Viewer is the dedicated page for reviewing historical process variable data recorded by the historian. It provides a tabular view of stored variable samples with filtering, sorting, and export functionality. Historian data is recorded for variables that have historian logging enabled in their variable settings.

Historian Viewer can be embedded in a runtime page or accessed as a standalone page.

Historian Viewer Columns

The following columns are shown in the Historian Viewer. Columns can be sorted and resized.

Toolbar Actions

The following actions are available in the Historian Viewer toolbar.

Notes

Historian data is only recorded for variables that have historian logging enabled. Enable logging on each variable individually on the relevant driver variable configuration page.

Historian Viewer can be embedded in a runtime page using the Historian design object, which provides trend chart and tabular views in a page-integrated format.

The historian database grows over time. Use the date filter and Delete Filtered function, or configure the Historian Path and retention settings on the Parameters page to manage storage.
