The Users configuration page defines the accounts that can log in to the system. Each user account has a username, password, one or more group assignments, a home page, and a default display language.
The combination of group assignments determines what configuration and runtime areas the user can access. Users in the Administrators group have access to the full configuration area. Users in other groups can only access the runtime and are limited to the pages, alarms, and design objects that allow those groups.
User Settings
Each Users row represents one user account. The row shows User Name, Password, Must change, User Groups, Home Page, and Default Language directly.
Create a new user with the Add button in the toolbar. The Add dialog contains the account settings with default values already filled in, including the Password for the new account and the Must change password on next login option, which is enabled by default. Enter at least the User Name and Password and press Create.
The user row values can be edited in place. Press the Settings icon on a user row to open the Settings dialog, which contains the same settings except the password. Press Save to apply the changes. Passwords are changed through the Set New Password dialog, which opens when pressing the Password cell of the row.
If a value in the Add or Settings dialog is not accepted, the dialog shows the validation message and stays open so the value can be corrected before saving again.

Password policy
Password behavior is governed by settings on the Parameters page and applies to local accounts. Active Directory accounts are managed by the domain and are not affected.
Strength: new and changed passwords must meet the configured minimum length and, when complexity is enabled, must contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit, and a symbol.
Force change: when Must change is set for a user, shown in the Must change column on the Users page, that user must set a new password at their next sign-in before continuing. New user accounts created on the Users page have this enabled by default.
Expiry: when a password expiry period is configured, a user whose password is older than that period is required to set a new one at sign-in. Expiry is unlimited by default.
The related settings are Password Minimum Length, Password Require Complexity, and Password Expiry Days on the Parameters page.
Notes
User names are case-sensitive. Ensure the spelling matches any references in external integrations.
A user can belong to multiple groups by entering group names as a comma-separated list in the User Groups field.
The Home Page field references the Name of a page defined in the Pages configuration. Leave it empty to use the system default landing page.
Active Directory integration can be configured on the Parameters page to allow domain accounts to authenticate against the system. AD users are mapped to groups via the AD Group field on the User Groups page and do not require a local user account.
Administrator accounts are only visible to administrators. When a user who is not in the Administrators group opens the Users page, accounts that belong to the Administrators group are not listed and are not included in the row count. For the same reason, the User Groups selection dialog offers the Administrators group only to administrators, and an attempt by a non-administrator to assign the Administrators group is rejected with a validation message.
