Server & Clients

Server

You install EnvisionSCADA on a Windows computer and runs on Internet Information Services (IIS). The server communicates with the physical hardware devices. The clients connect to the server to get the pages through a web browser.

Everything is always online. There is no compile time, running around with files, and everything is always instantaneously. What is configured correctly will work, what is not configured correctly, will simply not work.

Depending on how powerful your server is you can communicate with more devices, more variables, process more data and alarms, and serve more clients. See chapter hardware requirements for more information.

Please note that, when you install EnvisionSCADA on your personal computer, that the service will start together with your computer. If you're not using EnvisionSCADA, it is advised to stop the service.

If you wish to stop, start or restart the service, see article IIS on how to do this.

EnvisionSCADA is also available as a docker for Linux. To receive the latest docker image, please contact us as support@omniconautomation.com
